'केन्द्रीय सरकार द्वारा प्रत्याभूत/GUARANTEED BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT' both in Hindi and English text in 2 lines below it. Watermark window in left, Denomination panel in the centre and Mahatma Gandhi portrait in right. Watermark window 'D' in art shape. The vertical band next to Mahatma Gandhi portrait and a numeral '₹100' on the top. 'महात्मा गांधी/MAHATMA GANDHI' both in Hindi and English text below Mahatma Gandhi portrait. Large ornamental numeral '100' in centre of the denomination panel and 'एक सौ रुपये' in Hindi text below it. Promise text both in Hindi and English text below 'एक सौ रुपये' text. Promise text 'I PROMISE TO/PAY THE BEARER/THE SUM OF ONE /HUNDRED RUPEES' in 4 lines. Signed by the GOVERNOR in Hindi and English below Promise text. Note contain a readable, windowed security thread alternately visible on the obverse with the inscriptions ‘भारत’ (in Hindi) and ‘RBI’, but totally embedded on the reverse. Micro lettering, See-through Register, Braille Identification mark, Bleed lines, Latent image, Intaglio printing, electrotype watermark, Omron anti-photocopying feature and Security thread features included. The note has a machine-readable windowed demetalised clear text magnetic 1.4mm wide security thread with inscriptions ‘भारत’ (in Hindi)' and RBI. The thread fluoresces in yellow on both sides under U.V.light. The thread is visible as a continuous line from behind when held up against the light.

Reverse: 'भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक' in Hindi text on top centre. Language panel in left, Kanchenjunga mountain range with clouds in centre and Watermark window in right. Language panel with 15 regional text values. 'एक सौ रुपये' in Hindi text at the bottom left and 'ONE HUNDRED RUPEES' in English text at the bottom right. Numeric '₹100' at the top corners and bottom left corner. Omron anti-photocopying feature appears in the form of tiny yellow circles in the right-hand margin of the note. Year of printing '2017' appears in the bottom centre of the note.

Ascending size (Novel/Telescopic) serial number: A new numbering pattern, now the numerals in both the serial numbers of the note will be in ascending size from left to right. While the first 3 alphanumeric characters (Prefix) remains constant in size.

Bleed lines: With a view to facilitating identification of denomination of the note by visually impaired persons, ₹ 100 banknotes will have a total of 4 angular bleed lines in two sets of 2-2 lines on the obverse on both the left and right -hand edge of the note.

Latent Image: On the obverse side of note a vertical band on the right side of the Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait contains a latent image showing the respective denominational value in the numeral. The latent image is visible only when the note is held horizontally at eye level. 

Intaglio Printing: The portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the Reserve Bank seal, guarantee and promise clause, Ashoka Pillar Emblem on the left, RBI Governor's signature are printed in intaglio i.e. in raised prints, which can be felt by touch. 

Identification Mark: A special feature in intaglio has been introduced on the left of the watermark window with a triangle shape and helps the visually impaired to identify the denomination. 

Micro lettering: This feature appears between the vertical band and Mahatma Gandhi portrait. It contains the word ‘RBI’ and the denominational value '100' in micro letters. This feature can be seen better under a magnifying glass.

Fluorescence: Red serial number of the note is printed in fluorescent ink. The note also has optical fibres. Both can be seen when the note is exposed to an ultra-violet lamp.  

See-through Register: Denominational numeral 100, Half of the numeral is printed on the front and half on the back. Both the printed portions have an accurate back to back registration so that the numeral appears as one when seen against the light.

Electrotype Watermark: In addition to the Mahatma Gandhi watermark, the denominational numeral 100 appears alongside Mahatma Gandhi portrait in the watermark window.

Omron anti-photocopying feature: The feature appears in the form of tiny yellow circles on either side of the legend 'Reserve Bank of India'.

Watermark: Mahatma Gandhi on left, R/B/I in 3 lines on centre and Numeric '100' on right. 

Security thread: Windowed security thread with inscription ‘भारत’ (in Hindi) and ‘RBI’.
