Latent Image: On the obverse side of note a vertical band on the right side of the Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait contains a latent image showing the respective denominational value in the numeral. The latent image is visible only when the note is held horizontally at eye level.
Intaglio Printing: The portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the Reserve Bank seal, guarantee and promise clause, Ashoka Pillar Emblem on the left, RBI Governor's signature are printed in intaglio i.e. in raised prints, which can be felt by touch.
Identification Mark: A special feature in intaglio has been introduced on the left of the watermark window with Vertical rectangle shape and helps the visually impaired to identify the denomination.
Micro lettering: This feature appears between the vertical band and Mahatma Gandhi portrait. It contains the word ‘RBI’ and the denominational value '20' in micro letters. This feature can be seen better under a magnifying glass.
Fluorescence: Serial number of the note is printed in fluorescent ink. The note has dual coloured optical fibres. Both can be seen when the note is viewed under ultra-violet light.
See-through Register: Denominational numeral 20, Half of the numeral is printed on the front and half on the back. Both the printed portions have an accurate back to back registration so that the numeral appears as one when seen against the light.
Electrotype Watermark: In addition to the Mahatma Gandhi watermark, the denominational numeral 20 appears alongside Mahatma Gandhi portrait in the watermark window.
