Electrotype Watermark: In addition to the Mahatma Gandhi watermark, the denominational numeral '50' appears alongside Mahatma Gandhi portrait in the watermark window.

Micro lettering: It contains the word 'RBI', ‘भारत ', ‘INDIA' and '50'. This feature can be seen better under a magnifying glass.

Fluorescence: Serial number of the note is printed in fluorescent ink. The note has dual coloured optical fibres. Both can be seen when the note is viewed under ultra-violet light.

See-through Register: Denominational numeral 50, Half of the numeral is printed on the front and half on the back. Both the printed portions have an accurate back to back registration so that the numeral appears as one when seen against the light.
